In 2011 Dave and Ellen Leisner made it their mission to put old planes back in the air one part at a time by establishing Sutton Aircraft Salvage, LLC.
Specializing in Cessna aircrafts, Sutton Aircraft Salvage, a small home-operated aircraft junkyard located just 4 miles north of Palmer, has proudly been serving the Mat-Su Valley and the greater Alaskan area through its enterprise of hauling in salvageable parts from all corners of Alaska and the continental United States, providing prompt, friendly service and employing the local community.
Ellen, the administrator of Sutton Aircraft was raised in Eklutna, Alaska. Studied business management at the University of Anchorage, Alaska. Dave relocated to Alaska in 1987 with the U.S. Airforce. Having a lifelong interest in aviation, 8 years ago Dave discovered a niche in the Alaskan market for salvageable planes and their parts.
While working 40-60 hours a week, with dedication and ingenuity, Dave started operating Sutton Aircraft Salvage in his spare time – the business being opened full time in June, 2018.
Sutton Aircraft Salvage is located off of Soapstone Road, 4 miles north of Palmer, Alaska on 10 sprawling acres of birch and spruce overlooking the Chugiak mountains which tower above the Matanuska river.
