Scott’s plane began its service in 1981 as a floatplane in the US. In 1990, it was dismantled and shipped to the Netherlands, where it operated as a jump plane for eight years. In 1998, a Swiss airline captain purchased it, moving the plane to Switzerland and flying it on wheels and skis.
In 2002, he flew it across the Atlantic from Switzerland to Birchwood, Alaska, where it was inspected, recertified, and registered as a US aircraft. Unable to sell it, he removed the wings in 2003, and the fuselage was stored in an unheated barn in Chugiak for 17 years.
In 2020, Scott purchased the plane, had it professionally reassembled, added a Sportsman’s STOL cuff and VGs, repainted the wings, and installed a Garmin glass panel. In 2024, the jump door was replaced with a stock RH door.
Many of the Cessna parts needed for the restoration were provided by Sutton Aircraft Service. The aircraft now resides comfortably in a heated hangar at Hilltop Airport in Chugiak.
